10 Great Tips For Cleaning Bathtub

When the cleaning bathtub duty calls, it’s usually something we’d rather not do. Bending over in an unnatural way to clean soap scum off the bathtub isn’t easy. There are however some cleaning bathtub hacks that reduce your time and body strain.

Cleaning Bathtub Drain

You can use a mixture of baking soda and vinegar to clean your drain. When you put the two together, they create fizz and this actually breaks down any grease and hair in the drain. Use one cup of baking soda with two cups of vinegar and put it down the drain. Let it sit for about thirty minutes and then flush it down with hot water.

Cleaning the Faucets

In your bathtub, you’ll tend to end up with water spots on your faucet. This is common because water is constantly running over it and then sitting there. To easily get rid of the watermarks and shine up your faucets. All you need to do is rub a lemon over the fixtures and you’ll see the marks disappear right away.

Cleaning Bathtub with a Broom

To avoid getting on your hands and knees to scrub the tub, you can use a clean broom instead. Cover the tub with a multipurpose cleaner and then sweep/scrub with your broom. Rinse out the cleaner and you’re done. You can do this standing and a broom has more surface area so it cleans the bathtub much faster than a little scrubby.

If Your Bathtub has Black Mold

The bathroom will commonly accumulate mould due to bad circulation and moisture from hot showers. This is not something you want to ignore and should be tackled as soon as you notice it. It’s actually quite easy to get rid of the problem. Soak cotton balls in bleach water, apply around the bathtub on the edge and leave it overnight. You’ll want to use rubber gloves during this process. When you check in on it the next morning, you’ll see that the tub is completely mould-free.

Cleaning Bathtub Tiles

An easy way to clean the tiles and any mildew out of your bathtub is to spray on the cleaner, turn on the hot water, and let it get steamy. Turn off the water and let it sit for about 20 minutes. Once you’re done, create a mixture of six cups of warm water and a quarter cup of bleach. Use a dishwashing brush to scrub the tiles and grout. Any grit, dirt, mould, or mildew on the tiles will come off easily using this method.

Get out Stains
